Ottobock Agilium Forte
Knee Orthosis

Agilium Forte is a lightweight wrap-style orthosis for the treatment of osteoarthritis. Alongside the Agilium Vantage, it is the second knee orthosis we have designed for the U.S. market.

By combining different materials, Agilium Forte offers high wearing comfort along with excellent stability. This makes the orthosis suitable for both everyday use and physical activity. With a simple pull of the elastic Y-strap, pressure on the affected side of the knee is reduced, thereby relieving pain.

Background

Osteoarthritis is a growing issue in an aging society. Orthoses offer a straightforward, temporary, and non-invasive solution that can significantly improve and maintain quality of life over the long term.

These close-to-body textile products pose unique challenges for designers.

On one hand, the flexibility of textile materials requires a different design approach, especially when combined with rigid components. On the other hand, the orthosis must accommodate a wide range of physical conditions in order to offer a good fit for as many users as possible.
